
Mookambika temple at Kollur, is on the bank of river Souparnika in Westen ghats in the Stte of Karnataka. Kollur is surrounded by thickly wooded hills most of which is protected as the Mookambika wild life sanctuary. The temple holds immense relevance for devotees as it is associated with Adi Sankara and is one of the seven Muktisala pilgrimage sites in Karnataka (the other six being Udupi, Subramanya, Kumbasi, Kodeswara, Sankaranarayana, and Gokarna). The temple is about 140 km from Managalore and 80 km from Udupi.
